CARLOTA CAULFIELD. Daughter of perfumiers, Carlota Caulfield grew up surrounded by a symphony of scents. She was raised in Havana, Cuba and migrated first to Zurich, then to New York and eventually to the San Francisco Bay Area where she has been a long-time resident.

After poetry and cats, her great passions are fedora hats, turbans and red boots. She counts among her favorite designers Elsa Schiaparelli, Pauline Trigère and Cora Kemperman.
Her book awards include the International Italian Poetry Prize «Ultimo Novecento» (1988) and the First Hispanic American Poetry Prize «Dulce María Loynaz» (2002). She has published eleven books of poetry and fiction. Among her works are The Book of Giulio Camillo (A Model for a Theater of Memory) (2003), Quincunce/Quincunx (2004), Ticket to Ride. Essays & Poems (2005), A Mapmaker’s Diary. Selected Poems (2007), JJ/CC (2014) and ABCD ario. (2015).
With Torremozas, she published El tiempo es una mujer que espera (1986), A las puertas del papel con amoroso fuego (1996), Voces viajeras. Poetas cubanas de hoy (2002), No soy tu musa. Antología de poetas irlandesas contemporáneas (2008) and Fashionable. Una poeta adicta a la moda (2013).
Caulfield is the editor of From the Forbidden Garden. Letters from Alejandra Pizarnik to Antonio Beneyto (2003), and co-editor of A Companion to US Latino Literatures (2007 & 2010) and Barcelona. ANGELA McEWAN (1934-2015)
Angela McEwan’s translations include Irene by Jorge Eliécer Pardo, and with Carlota Caulfield From the Forbidden Garden: Letters from Alejandra Pizarnik to Antonio Beneyto (2003) and a collection of poems by Liliana Valenzuela: Codex of Journeys/Bendito Camino (2012). Her translation of a one-act play by Cristina Gutiérrez Richaud, «No es para tanto,» from Sin mí me muero, appeared in Readerly/Writerly Texts. In Alexander Payne’s Nebraska (2013), she played newspaper editor Peg Nagy. She had a recurring role on HBO’s Getting On (2014), and also appeared in the film
Moments of Clarity (2015). She was born in Los Angeles, California, and lived in Spain, Mexico, and Nicaragua.
McEwan received a B.A. in English from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, and a M.A. in Spanish from the University of California, Irvine.

ROBERT DAVIDSON is Associate Professor of Spanish & Catalan Studies at the University of Toronto and Director of the Northrop Frye Centre in Toronto. He entered the world of fashion thanks to his tailor (whom he met in 2007 and who has an exceptional eye for made-to-measure and bespoke garments as well as an exquisite selection of prêt-à-porter). Currently, his favorite suit in rotation is a two-piece Donegal tweed number with a suede melton.
